A volunteer in a field is a person who, in a very short time, has a good chance of being part of the education process.
It’s interesting that I can say that because it’s true. I volunteer in my school’s nursing department for one term a year. Each term I talk to kids about how they can get a free ride in college and help them finish their high school education. I get them talking about the things they want to do in college, and I give them a chance to apply what they learned, in a very short time, to the same goals I did as a student.
When I volunteer in school, I get to talk to my students on what they’re learning, what they want to do in their college course, and what they need to do in their high school education.
