I am interested in learning more about mindfulness in higher education. What is the difference between mindfulness in the classroom, in the classroom, and beyond? Please feel free to leave a comment with any questions you may have.

Mindfulness, the practice of being fully present in the moment, is important to help students get in touch with the present moment. It’s also important because when students are mindful in the moment they are not being distracted. They are not being so focused on the future that they forget the present. This is because mindfulness is built into your brain’s default function so you don’t actually have to be mindful in the moment.

This is an important area of psychology that is under-researched. Mindfulness has been shown to be helpful in helping people focus better on tasks and make better decisions. But it is also important to consider that too much mindfulness can be detrimental to the student itself. Some of the best success has been achieved when students have a tendency to focus their attention on a single thing, or on a specific problem.

I am the type of person who will organize my entire home (including closets) based on what I need for vacation. Making sure that all vital supplies are in one place, even if it means putting them into a carry-on and checking out early from work so as not to miss any flights!
