Today Meriwether County Board of Education President Michael C. Hulburt is being honored by the students, faculty, and staff at the school and the community. He is well known for his leadership at Meriwether County Schools and for his work as a teacher and parent.
It’s been a while since we’ve ever seen Meriwether this good. There are still some things that we like to see, but it’s been pretty quiet since we first saw this trailer.
This is the first time the district has announced Meriwether County is going to be participating in an AP Government course. The course will run from January through April, and it will be taught by three AP students from the College of Central Texas. The course will focus on the administrative side of the school district, focusing on the relationship between the school and county, and the relationship between the school and the community.
It’s good that the school is going to be taking steps to be more of a part of the community, but it’s also good that the district is focusing on improving its relationship with the community. The AP Student who will be teaching this class is from the College of Central Texas, and she’s only one of a handful of AP students from the district to be invited to the district’s next board of education meeting.
