There are more than 50,000 schools in the United States and over 15 million students in the United States. And that is just public schools. Most private schools have between 100 and 1000 students. In fact, there are about 2.3 million private schools in the United States and about 9,000 in each state. Now that I’ve spent some time with the Buck Institute for Education, I realized that there is a lot of value to be learned from private schools.
Buck Institute for Education, founded in 1966, is the world’s largest provider of private-university education. The institute currently has more than 50,000 students and employs over 1,000 people. The largest private university in the world in terms of enrollment, Buck is also the largest in terms of the number of students.
