Westside Community Schools is a brand that has over the decades become synonymous with quality education. It has been a force in shaping the community’s character and growing it in diversity. This school board is a bit different.
The board was founded in the early 1980s by the famous Westside School Board and it’s current founding president, Jason Vilsack and his students, Bill and Barbara, is the current chairman. In terms of membership, it’s only one-third of the board. However, all of the board members have been active members for over 20 years.
