I am proud to announce that my local tipton county board of education, a group of dedicated, professional, and caring educators, will be hosting a special webinar this coming Thursday, August 7, 2014. The webinar will feature a discussion of the tipton county school district’s vision for the future, including a presentation on the board’s vision for the next school years as well as ways to get involved with the board as an individual or as a group.
The tipton county school districts vision is to become a community of excellence where all children and youth have the opportunity to excel in their academic areas. By having a well-rounded curriculum, teachers are able to teach to the whole child and are able to teach to the various intellectual areas of the child. This is so important that the public schools are actually funded to be able to teach to the entire child and not just the academic areas.
The board of education is a legal entity that is created in the state of Texas and is comprised of the school district and the county government. In order to become a member of the board of education, a candidate first must raise money for a school bond. In the case of tipton county, it was first proposed by school districts and the county government in order to create a new school district.
