Physical education is essential in our society. In the United States, physical education is actually mandated by law. It’s not free, however. As the saying goes, “I’m only kidding, but it costs a nickel to fill the classroom with people working on the assembly line.” The US Department of Education makes it a point to say that teachers should spend 50% of their time on education, while the department of commerce and labor calls it the “best way to build an effective workforce.
The Department of Education is very aware that physical education is very important and has been for decades. They also realize that there aren’t many teachers to go around, so they are making it mandatory that they spend 50% of their time on physical education in the classroom. The other 50% is given over to teaching other subjects, such as agriculture.
The Department of Labor and Employment is very aware that physical education is the most important thing that can be done for any job in a field. They also realize that it is the best way to educate the entire population. It can even be a good way to reduce the number of students in the field.
The obvious answer is that it’s the only way to get people involved with the field in the first place. By focusing on the individual, rather than the field, the teaching population can be much more effective. This is one of the reasons that physical education is a huge deal. According to the Department of Labor and Employment, there are over one million teachers in the United States. If they had to just focus on individual teachers and not the field at large, they could work much better.
While I agree that the teaching population should focus on the individual more, what I’d like to see is that the field has less people (as opposed to people being focused on as individuals). This is because the teaching population is much more likely to have a positive impact on the field than the individual. This is another reason that physical education is such a big deal. If they were more focused on the individual, the effects of physical education could be better spread across the field.
The main reason why I think we teachers need to better focus on the field is because we’re doing it more often than most: when we teach, we’re doing it for our students, and we’re teaching them something that is more than just the physical aspects of what they should be doing. We’re also teaching them something that’s more than the bare minimum to get them through to the next level of learning.
