Paterson is a town in the middle of nowhere in the southern part of the state of New Jersey. It is not unlike any of the towns that border on it.
Paterson is just a few hours from New York City, Newark, Philadelphia, and New Jersey City, all of which are all more than willing to help the fund. The idea is that one of these towns would like to be a charter school and would like to help build a computer lab for students there. The fund would then be used to pay for computers, the lab, and all the other things they need to make the program successful.
