For example, a lot of times, operations managers have a very hands-on approach to their work. They have to be very good at problem solving, so that’s what they learn in school.
The reason why you don’t want to have any kind of leadership training in your life is because you have no idea what you will be doing next. To put it bluntly, most people don’t work. Even the biggest execs are really just looking for answers. They just can’t imagine what the next step would be.
There are plenty of people who are good at working but dont learn how to work. This doesnt mean the person is useless, but they dont see the value of what they do. They simply dont have a passion for the work. If you are good at something, you want to know what you are good at. You want to know what you are good at because thats how you learn. If you dont want to do the task, you dont want to be told you are good at it.
I’ve noticed a lot of people in the field of software development find themselves in a “I dont know how to do this” situation. I think it is because they have learned what they do so they simply do not know how to do it any better. I think it is also because they have no passion for it and simply want to do as much work as anyone else.
Myself, I have no passion for any software development task. I just want to do the best I can, and do it right. I like to work on projects I am excited about, and I do not like to work on tasks I know nothing about, and thats why most project managers work on tasks that have no value to them. I have worked on projects without a business case, and without a customer, and without a budget, and I am just good at it.
I am glad to see your story is getting the attention it deserves. It has been a long time since I had a story about the two new Star Wars movies. I can’t imagine I’d ever had the time to read it again. I really don’t like waiting too long for a book I’ve read before I read it.
Well, I hate waiting. I have a hard time getting into the mood for long-term reading and I tend to have a hard time remembering stuff. I think that if I could just get some time in the new year to read, I would.
What you’re currently reading has been a long time coming. The Star Wars series has been one of my favorites for almost as long as I can remember, and as it turns out, it was a long time coming too. The first book, The Empire Strikes Back, was published in 1980. The second, Return of the Jedi, was published in 1980. The first movie was released in 1981, followed by the second movie in 1983.
