You may remember that I have a label for education collection sheets. I made this label a few years ago just to display them on my site. They are perfect for students looking to get more exposure to certain topics.
It’s not just about getting more exposure, though. This is more of a self-awareness thing. As I’ve been working on getting more students to understand my ideas for their education collections, I’ve been looking up labels for education collection sheets to help them understand me better. I’ve even started a site to show some of the labels for these educational collections, which you can see here.
I think in a sense everyone has their own labels, especially if you are working in a field like education. Every student is different, and the labels might be different as well. As the labels are unique to each student, I think it is more important than ever to help them understand what you are trying to say and why you are trying to say it. As a person who teaches classes, I think it is important to explain to the students why I want to teach them to understand the material.
My own classroom is a hybrid of many different formats. The students are typically in a group, often a couple of students, who are trying to come up with a definition for a concept. When they are done, I might ask them to go to the blackboard and draw what they came up with, or I might ask them to create a class workbook from that definition.
I do both of those things in class because I want to keep a list of things I want to explain to the students so I can go back and re-explain them later.
It’s a bit like creating a class workbook. I might say, “I want to teach you this, but I don’t want you to know it.” I might say, “In this class, I want you to create a term that means ‘dog.’ What is a dog?” Or I might say, “I don’t want you to know it, but you might find it interesting…”.
Creating a class workbook is really just about creating a list of things you want to explain in class. Like I said, the class workbook is just a list of things you want to explain. One of the things I would suggest is a class vocabulary (like the ones in the “What is a dog” class workbook). This way you can create a vocabulary for students to learn alongside their class work.

If you’re using a class workbook for your class, you might want to consider having a class vocabulary for each of the subjects you’re teaching. Then we can include vocabulary in the teacher’s presentation book or workbook as needed. You can also include your own class vocabulary in your class workbook, but it goes beyond that. With a class vocabulary, you can give students a list of words or phrases that you want them to know, and then have them work through them.
Your class vocabulary will be your vocabulary for all of your subjects, so if you’re not careful, you’ll end up with a list of words or phrases that you don’t even know exists. For example, if you have a pair of words that you don’t know, then you’ll end up with a list of phrases that don’t exist if you’re not sure about the vocabulary.
