This is a continuing education program that I launched in the spring of 2013 in response to a need that I noticed in the older adult population in general. I felt that I could create a program that was relevant, useful, and fun. This is a program that allows older adults to take on a more public role with it.
The program itself is free to attend. But you really do need to register and sign a form. Then you select which classes you will be taking with it. Each class will have a different learning format and method, and it’s always best to go in with a teacher you feel comfortable with.
I really like it. It’s definitely something I would like to participate in more. Plus my older adult daughter is in a position where she needs to take a course in something for her masters degree because it’s more practical than a class in history. So I think it’s a very good way for her to get on the path of advancing her education.
I know a lot of older adults that have taken classes from other teachers, but I think the courses will be the best way for her to continue learning and to get her foot in the door of teaching. And as we all know, getting into teaching is really hard but with classes like these, it’s not.
I think this might be a great way for her to continue learning because this course will be something new and refreshing. Plus there’s the added benefit of having a new set of instructors for her to draw on. I know you’re not going to find an instructor who’s going to be someone you’ve trained with before like she is, but that’s okay.

As it turns out, our classes are not a completely new thing. They are the same classes we’ve had for the past eight months, and this is the second class for a new person in the group. Our instructor is an older person who lives in our area. We have been asking her several times if she is new, and she has been telling us she is not. Its nice to get a break from that.
I’m going to talk about teaching for older adults, and I’ve made a mistake once and I plan to change it. I just wanted to say I’m going to talk about when you’re younger, but instead I want to share my experience with you.
We don’t have the resources to do this, but we do have the resources.
It’s about two weeks before the new year is going to start and we’re going to go for a walk. We’re hoping it’s going to be a walk in the park.
