The Institute of American Handicapped is an organization that was formed in the late 1800s to combat the problem of the aging of America. With the onset of World War I, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to the Handicapped came into existence to provide some much needed assistance to those who were fighting in the war.
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to the Handicapped was founded by a man named Dr. Edwin A. Tarrant. Dr. Tarrant was the head of the Rehabilitation Service of the Armed Forces in 1918. He was the first person to be awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery in battle. He was also the president of the Society.
According to a new article in the International Journal of Nursing, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to the Handicapped is a little different from most other nursing organizations. They actually have a board of directors, rather than an executive committee. A lot of the nursing-related research is done by the board of directors. It seems as though they also do a lot of writing for the society.
