Although we have all been taught that risk is a bad thing, we have also been taught that we can control it. This is a dangerous assumption as it can lead to the very thing that you are trying to avoid–a bad outcome. We need to recognize that risk is a part of the process and that we can mitigate the impact of risk by taking action.

We’ve been told that we can control risk by developing our own strategies, but those strategies have evolved over time. If we’re actually being taught how to fight risk, then we’ve become a more dangerous threat than we were in the past.

I am the type of person who will organize my entire home (including closets) based on what I need for vacation. Making sure that all vital supplies are in one place, even if it means putting them into a carry-on and checking out early from work so as not to miss any flights!
