I have heard many people argue that the idea of being an educated person is a myth. As a whole, I disagree. And I don’t think that anyone is arguing that people can’t be educated. I think people are generally aware of the value of education and that it is something that is valued. It’s just rare.

I think when people are told they have to go to school, they often assume they have to do it because they have to, they have to because their parent did or because their parents say it is what they have to do.
In education we do need to have a school of thought that is based on a set of educational philosophies. If we don’t take the time to think about what we are doing and why we are doing it, we don’t do it right. For example, a lot of people who work in retail are taught to shop “correctly”.
Of course, this type of education is based on the philosophy that the customer is always right. But it is a philosophy that can be applied to a lot of different things. For example, if you want to work in medicine, you might want to get a good education. If you want to work in law, you might want to get a good education. If you want to work in marketing, you might want to get a good education.
